Addressing Your Personal Issues
“Nothing can dim the light which shines from within.”
Maya Angelou
One of the first things we look for in people is their strengths. When people entrust us with their hopes and challenges we start with getting to know you as a whole person- strengths and interests, pains and pastimes, goals and obstacles, and the nature of your daily life including what you may want more of or less of. Each person has their own style and energy and we tailor our approach to align with what is comfortable for you while introducing new options that fit with your style and may stretch your comfort zone a bit to expand your resources, perspective and abilities.
You may want help with a specific problem, transition, or crisis. Perhaps you wish to explore long-standing patterns that have held you back; or you're seeking greater clarity about your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and body feelings. Whatever the reason that brought you here, we can help.

Our style is a practical one that identifies and builds on each person’s unique resources to support growth and change for a more comfortable, effective experience in life. Very often when starting therapy we may be discouraged and not be in touch with any strengths or resources. That’s normal and okay. The important thing is that we start with where you are and respectfully, caringly map out a path that will guide you to where you want to be.
Making the decision to seek therapy may be difficult, but it is an important step and a sign of courage, strength, and hope. It is an exploratory journey from which you will emerge with positive changes to your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, interactions, awareness, and physical states. While this is your journey, your therapist will accompany you as you develop trust in the therapeutic process, gain a deeper understanding of yourself, take more risks by trying new ways of approaching your world and those in it, and experience greater peace and happiness.
