Meet Toby Eastman, LCSW,
Licensed Therapist and Clinical Supervisor

Toby is known for her gentle, but brilliant style of working with clients and her supervisees. She is a highly experienced licensed psychotherapist and clinical supervisor with over 30 years of expertise helping individuals, couples, and families navigate complex emotional and relational challenges. Known for her depth, clarity, and grounded presence, Toby works with clients who are ready to move beyond surface level coping and create meaningful, lasting change.
With advanced experience in Early Childhood Mental Health, Toby brings a sophisticated understanding of how early relationship patterns shape the way adults think, feel, and relate to others. She helps clients identify the root causes of recurring patterns so they can shift them, rather than simply manage them.
Toby’s approach is thoughtful and insight driven, grounded in a framework that liberates and supports clients in reclaiming their voice, expanding their emotional range, and reconnecting with a more authentic sense of self. Her work creates space for both exploration and accountability, allowing clients to break through long standing barriers to connection, fulfillment, and joy.
She works particularly well with high functioning individuals, couples and families who may appear successful externally, yet experience:
-
Persistent relationship conflict or emotional disconnection
-
Difficulty sustaining intimacy or trust
-
Life transitions that challenge identity or stability
-
The lasting impact of early family dynamics and attachment wounds
Building on her solid educational foundation and diverse clinical experience, Toby brings specialized training in Sex Therapy that deepens the support she offers to individuals and couples.
Toby is especially skilled in working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and those seeking culturally responsive, socially aware care. She integrates cultural and ancestral wisdom into the therapeutic process, offering a level of attunement that allows clients to feel deeply seen without needing to over explain their lived experience.
Her style is warm, direct, and nonjudgmental while balancing compassion with thoughtful exploration. Clients often experience her as both grounding and transformative, helping them develop greater self awareness, emotional freedom, and experience more connected relationships.
Having lived in the Bay Area for over 40 years, Toby brings both cultural fluency and a deep respect for the complexity of the communities she serves.
